International Coding Technologies created a unique RFID-based Windows desktop and Windows Mobile app targeted at precast concrete manufacturers. When they were ready to move to a cloud-hosted web app and Android/iOS mobile app, they turned to Ascendle.
To replace the old solution we built Idencia, a brand-new product consisting of both a web application and cross-platform mobile app.
The original system was built in five years. We brought Idencia to market in five months.
Idencia is the go to market brand for International Coding Technologies (ICT), a world leader in radio frequency identification (RFID) technology used in the precast concrete industry. Their solutions are used by leading concrete manufacturers to manage the manufacturing process and, using their RFID tags embedded in the concrete structures, manage the maintenance process after installation.
ICT wanted to move to the web, with a Software as a Service (SaaS) application as well as a cross-platform mobile app. The catch? It had to be ready to ship at the big trade show in February. And it was already September.
We delivered not only a from-scratch web application and cross-platform mobile app, we wrote close to 800 automated unit tests and a continuous integration solution that automatically runs the tests several times per day. Plus we wrote a custom hardware interface using the industrial RFID reader’s SDK. Finally, we rolled out a new e-commerce web store and a recurring subscription billing solution.
The trade show went off without a hitch and Idencia went on sale right on schedule.
