Agile Product Owner

Job Description

We are seeking someone to join us as an Agile Product Manager, typically called a Product Owner. Experience as a Product Owner is beneficial but not required if you have other product management experience. We provide our comprehensive Scrum training to all new team members.

You will execute our client's vision for their software development project and act as an in-house "client proxy," ensuring the team delivers on the vision. You will collaborate with stakeholders to establish a product release strategy, and hit targets using our finely tuned Agile Scrum framework.

The ideal candidate will have experience with Scrum in a real-world environment. You must be self-disciplined, proactive, punctual and hold yourself accountable for the work you produce. You must be a team player with solid communication and client management skills.

Based on our mix of projects, there may also be opportunities to participate on a coaching team to teach the Scrum methodology to our clients. You would utilize a combination of classroom training and hands-on coaching and mentoring to lead agile transformations. Experience coaching development teams on Scrum concepts is a plus.

This role is responsible for:

  • Working with Scrum team members on software development projects.
  • Participating in "discovery" engagements to help understand client needs and create a delivery plan.
  • Gathering and assessing business goals, stakeholder, and customer feedback to write user stories.
  • Continuously grooming and prioritizing the backlog to plan the product releases most valuable to the client's strategic objectives.
  • Participating in the planning and execution of user acceptance testing.
  • Triaging issues and working with development teams to find resolutions.
  • Defining, refining and communicating vision and scope to the team.
  • Driving solutions to completion.
  • Ensuring the internal wiki is maintained with relevant and updated documentation.

Familiarity with the following tools is a plus:

    • JIRA
    • Confluence
    • Microsoft Office Suite

We are a virtual company, giving you the opportunity to work from a location of your choosing. You will attend a combination of on-site as well as remote meetings. As our current client base is in the New England area, living within one hour of Boston is preferable. Occasional overnight travel may be required depending upon the location of the client.
